ZigZag Global Ltd is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer (Backend & Infrastructure) to drive reliability and scalability across the product. The role spans architectural leadership, cloud-native patterns, and cross-team collaboration from France (Paris or remote) with no visa sponsorship.

This is a permanent CDI position, reporting to Engineering and based in France. The candidate will shape best practices, guide incident response, and help unify our post-purchase and returns platforms as we grow

Qualifications

• Deep experience in cloud architecture, ideally in GCP; Azure/AWS also considered.
• Strong proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Fluent in English; French would be advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage scalable, reliable infrastructure and handle incidents.
• Willingness to share knowledge and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
• Experience working across multiple environments and distributed systems is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Develop a coherent technology strategy aligned with product priorities.
• Ensure architectural decisions match objectives and roadmaps.
• Maintain service reliability: incidents, SLOs, recovery plans, observability.
• Oversee backend QA and security processes.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure, especially during peak periods.
• Contribute to CI/CD, code reviews, and engineering processes.
• Evaluate moving to event-driven architectures where relevant.
• Pair with squad developers to share practices and knowledge.
• Help define tech and product initiatives and roadmap.
• Respond to unexpected issues impacting operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate constraints.
