Job summary

At Atolls, a leading, community-driven shopping platform, we are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer with expertise in TypeScript, NestJS, and Node.js to join the Fulfilment team in Paris or remotely from France. You will build scalable APIs, ensure security, and contribute to fraud prevention and self-service capabilities.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, design robust back-end systems, and mentor junior developers while embracing Agile and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Developer.
• Knowledge of AWS technologies including DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, relational and NoSQL databases, EventBridge and messaging services like SQS/SNS.
• Strong design and architectural skills for back-end, REST APIs, event-driven and microservice architectures.
• Analytical mindset with structured problem solving and attention to maintainable code.
• Experience delivering tests, documentation, and familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of GitLab, Docker, and CI/CD; GraphQL familiarity is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS and related technologies.
• Collaborate with frontend, design, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions across the full SDLC.
• Troubleshoot, optimize performance, and ensure scalability of applications.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services while staying current with web development trends.
• Document code and processes while following security best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers and participate in architectural decision-making.
