bsport is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to shape the engineering department and build a high-volume, compliant payment and billing stack. You will design microservices and event-driven architectures, work with data, product, and DevOps teams, and balance immediate needs with long-term scalability.

You will mentor engineers, enforce testing and CI/CD, monitor systems with Grafana, Prometheus, ELK and Sentry, and help expand our platform to new markets while embracing domain-driven

Qualifications

• Substantial experience with object-oriented backend development.
• Experience in a compliance-heavy industry (finance, payments, health-tech).
• Familiarity with Python and Django is a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership in technical contexts.

About the role:

Joining our "Financial Services" team means playing a crucial role in shaping the success of our engineering department by providing all the tools for bsport to become client's financial partner. Your team’s focus areas will include:

• Provide financial support and capabilities to our clients (500k€/day payment stack)

• Generate billing to our clients based on flexible subscription (geography / functionalities

• Expand bsport offering to new markets (countries, payment methods)

What will be your impact:

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design of microservices and event-driven architectures that handle high-volume data and ensure a balance between immediate product requirements, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability.

• Write robust, efficient, and maintainable code and implement best practices for code reviews, testing, and continuous integration & delivery.

• Provide technical leadership and share knowledge with less experienced engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

• Work closely with Data, Product, and DevOps teams to deploy and maintain cutting-edge solutions and align technical strategy with business goals, ensuring each release adds measurable value.

• Continuously monitoring and improving the performance of backend services using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, and Sentry.

• Participate in our cross-team Backend & DevOps "chapter," providing innovative solutions and improvements to our stack (Grafana, Kibana, PostgreSQL, AWS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Django, Django Rest Framework), advocating for best practices in observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure systems run at peak efficiency.

You would be great fit if you have:

• You have substantial experience in any current Object-Oriented backend language (familiarity with Python and Django is a plus)

• You have a significant experience in a compliance-heavy industry (Accounting, payment, Health-tech...)

• You are confortable on challenging a implementation from the data model diagrams to the networking

• You have experience working at scale, serving dozen of millions of users

• You love domain-driven development, and understands interface purity has its limit.

• You understand both how powerful and how dangerous AI-assisted workflows can be, and want to redefine the barriers of what is doable

• You are professionally proficient in English

• You take ownership and pride in building exceptional products

• You’re detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator

• You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and enjoy being challenged
