Voodoo in Paris is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to shape architecture, scalability, and long‑term strategy for Wizz, a social app with millions of users in the US and UK. You will own backend systems and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver a robust platform.

You will work with a stack including Node.js, Go, MongoDB, Redis, and cloud tools, and enjoy hybrid work with remote days on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, while thriving in a fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development experience.
• Fluent in French.
• Experience with high-traffic distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Node.js and Go.
• Familiarity with cloud services (GCP/AWS) and APIs.

Responsabilités

• Own the backend architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability for millions of users.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to shape and influence product decisions with a strong technical perspective.
• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain highly scalable and available backend systems, including features that enhance user safety and content moderation.
• Integrate and manage third‑party services (analytics, moderation, cloud tools) for a secure user experience.
• Define and promote best practices in reliability, observability, and infrastructure management.
• Contribute to backend infrastructure evolution to support rapid product iterations and safe growth.
• Improve system performance and scalability for high-traffic distributed systems.
