CarCutter, a hybrid Paris-based AI-powered automotive imagery platform, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the core image-processing backend. You will work with Python services, SQL databases, and AWS, shaping scalable architecture and CI/CD practices.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, design, and AI teams, contribute to cloud infrastructure, and help advance agent-assisted development while maintaining high reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• At least five years of backend software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Python.
• Hands-on Linux administration and networking basics.
• Experience with SQL databases and queue-based processing.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, APIs, containers, security, and distributed systems.
• Experience with best practices: TDD, BDD, automated testing, documentation, CI/CD.
• Experience deploying and monitoring cloud-based solutions, preferably AWS.
• Git version control proficiency.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Python.
• Build reliable solutions meeting customer and product requirements.
• Improve and operate AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Support transition to modular, scalable architecture.
• Improve automated testing (unit & end-to-end).
• Develop and maintain APIs, database integrations, queues, and image-processing workflows.
• Apply DevOps practices to ensure CV features are reliably available.
• Monitor systems, investigate incidents, and improve platform reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architecture, security, CI/CD, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with application, frontend, cloud, data, and AI teams.
