CarCutter is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to power the core image processing platform. You will design, build, and operate Python services, connect to SQL databases and queues, and optimize AWS infrastructure.

You will collaborate across product, design, and AI teams to modernize architecture and enable agent-assisted workflows. You will work in a hybrid Paris-based setup, contributing to scalable cloud-native solutions, implementing solid testing, and shaping future software development

Qualifications

• At least five years of backend software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Python.
• Hands-on Linux experience including system administration.
• Experience with SQL databases and queue-based processing.
• Solid understanding of APIs, containers, security, and distributed systems.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Python.
• Improve and operate AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Support transition to modular, scalable architecture.
• Enhance automated testing (unit & end-to-end).
• Develop and maintain APIs, databases, and messaging workflows.
• Apply DevOps practices to ensure reliable computer vision capabilities.
• Monitor systems, investigate incidents, and improve reliability.
• Contribute to architecture, security, CI/CD, and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, frontend, cloud, data, AI).
• Explore AI coding agents and agentic workflows where beneficial.
• Define reviews, testing, security, monitoring, and deployment practices.
