Odaseva is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to maintain and enhance our critical backend systems. You will partner with Product Managers to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and collaborate with Infrastructure to ensure robust, high‑performing applications.

Based in Paris (75002), France, this full-time, hybrid role offers ownership, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to impact core data management platforms used by leading enterprises.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a backend Developer in a professional environment with a focus on a backend language (PHP, Go, NodeJS, Java).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects and measurable impact on product performance or stability.
• Deep expertise in non-framework development and object-oriented programming principles.
• Ability to use AI tools (Claude) on all phases of development (analysis, implementation, tests, cross‑functional automations).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker) and Salesforce is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated and proactive, with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain highly performant, scalable, and secure PHP/NodeJS applications (+ other modules in Go/python) for our core backend engine.
• Collaborate directly with Product Managers to understand requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver solutions that align with product goals.
• Work closely with the Infrastructure team to optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless deployment and operation.
• Lead by example in writing clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Identify and implement opportunities for system optimization, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
• Stay current with emerging PHP/NodeJS trends and technologies, recommending and implementing relevant advancements.

About The Role

As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our critical backend systems.

You’ll work closely with Product Managers to translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with the Infrastructure team to ensure robust, scalable, and high‑performing applications.
