Job summary

Odaseva, a leader in enterprise data management and security, is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Paris-based team. You will design and implement robust backend services and APIs, scale complex systems in the cloud, and own features from design through production in a hybrid work environment.

You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor peers, and apply AI-assisted approaches to engineering tasks while ensuring high standards in performance, security, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on backend development with ownership of significant features.
• Expertise in at least one backend language (Node.js/TypeScript, PHP, Go, or Python); production experience with two or more is a plus.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, databases, and testing.
• Experience with AWS, serverless, containers, IaC and observability tooling; Salesforce is a plus.
• Fluent in English and French with clear communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, from technical design to production.

• 7+ years of hands-on backend development, with a track record of owning significant features from design through delivery.

• Deep expertise in at least one backend language among Node.js/TypeScript, PHP, Go, or Python; production experience with two or more is a strong plus.

• Proven ability to get up to speed quickly on complex systems and take ownership of key parts of them, whether building from scratch or evolving what exists.

• Strong fundamentals in software design and distributed systems: event-driven architectures, queues, database performance, testing.

• Experience with AWS (serverless, containers, IaC) and observability tooling. Salesforce experience is a plus.

• Equivalent engineering school degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Fluent in English and French, with clear communication, ownership mindset, and strong collaborative skills.

Where You'll Be

• Based in Paris (75002), France.
• Hybrid: 3 days in the office / 2 days remote work.
• Full time permanent contract position.
