Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking Applied Scientists and Research Engineers to drive research across text, image and speech. You will build and deploy SOTA models, develop data pipelines, and collaborate with engineering, product and client teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.

We value strong English communication, independent yet collaborative work, and a track record of high-quality code and research. PhD or Master is a plus; remote/flexible options vary by region.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Proficiency in PyTorch or JAX and Python.
• Experience contributing to large codebases and CI pipelines.
• Strong research background with publications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run pre-training, post-training and deploy models on large GPU clusters.
• Generate and curate data for training and evaluation.
• Develop tools/frameworks for data generation, training and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on complex use cases.
• Manage research projects and communicate with client teams.
• Contribute to open source or large codebases with rigor.
