European Tech Recruit seeks a Functional Safety for AI – Technical Lead to drive safety architecture for AI-enabled automotive embedded systems, ensuring certifiability and robust safety practices across projects.

You will lead safety concepts, coordinate with architecture, safety, engineering, product teams, and apply model validation, fault injection, and runtime safety to deliver Safe AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience of ISO 26262 / automotive functional safety.
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning in safety-critical embedded applications.
• 10+ years of experience architecting, designing, and validating safety-critical embedded systems.
• Significant experience working within automotive environments.
• Experience defining system safety architectures and translating AI behaviour into safety requirements.

Responsabilités

• Own AI safety execution across projects, translating the safety/AI roadmap into innovation projects.
• Define system safety concepts for AI-driven features in collaboration with other experts.
• Translate AI behaviour and system characteristics into safety requirements and mechanisms.
• Design and assess fail-safe and fail-operational behaviours for AI-enabled embedded systems.
• Coordinate innovation projects across NPI and application engineering teams.
• Collaborate to evolve engineering processes and incorporate emerging safety standards.
• Apply model validation, robustness testing, fault injection, and runtime safety mechanisms.
