Jobgether SRL is partnering to recruit a Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting based in France. The role centers on IFRS accounting and reporting within a global organization, taking ownership of technical accounting research, contract assessments, memos, and key reporting activities.

You will contribute to month-end close, consolidation, and external audits, working with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accounting conclusions are well-supported and aligned with IFRS

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ability to research, interpret, and apply standards.
• Experience assessing contracts for accounting implications, especially revenue and leases.
• Strong technical writing skills for memos and audit support documentation.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, trial balance reviews, and consolidation entries.
• Attention to detail with sound judgment for complex accounting matters.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and collaboration across Finance and non-Finance teams.
• Experience with external auditors is valuable; public accounting or audit preferred but not required.
• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred but not required.
• Experience in a multinational group reporting environment is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Review contracts and business arrangements to determine accounting implications, focusing on IFRS 15 revenue recognition and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Research IFRS guidance and prepare technical accounting memos and position papers.
• Support month-end close through trial balance reviews and account analysis.
• Prepare and review consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations and reclassifications.
• Coordinate with external auditors during year-end processes and group audits.
• Prepare audit support materials and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A and business teams to evaluate accounting impacts.
• Support technical accounting projects and broader finance initiatives.
• Maintain and update accounting policies in line with new IFRS standards.
• Develop training materials to help finance and non-finance stakeholders understand accounting requirements.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting based in France.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to IFRS accounting and reporting within a global, fast-moving organization operating across international markets.

You will take ownership of technical accounting research, contract assessments, accounting memos, and key reporting activities.

The position combines technical accounting expertise with hands‑on involvement in month‑end close, consolidation, and external audits.

You will work closely with Finance leadership, Corporate Accounting, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and business teams to assess complex transactions.

Your work will help ensure accounting conclusions are well-supported, consistently applied, and aligned with applicable IFRS requirements.

The role provides exposure to a broad range of accounting topics, including revenue, leases, impairment, provisions, consolidation, and related parties.

It is well suited to an experienced accountant who brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and confidence working across a multinational environment.

• Review contracts and business arrangements to determine their accounting implications, with particular focus on revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and lease accounting under IFRS 16.

• Research IFRS guidance and prepare technical accounting memos and position papers covering revenue, leases, impairment, provisions, consolidation, related parties, and other relevant accounting topics.

• Support month-end close activities through trial balance reviews, account analysis, and identification of unusual, complex, or judgmental items.

• Prepare and review consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations, reclassifications, accruals, and other group reporting adjustments.

• Coordinate with external auditors during year-end processes, including local statutory audits and group audit requirements.

• Prepare audit support materials, gather evidence, participate in walkthroughs, and help resolve auditor questions efficiently.

• Work cross‑functionally with Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and business teams to understand transactions and evaluate their accounting impact.

• Support technical accounting and broader finance projects as required.

• Maintain and update accounting policies in line with new and evolving accounting standards.

• Develop training and guidance materials to help finance and non‑finance stakeholders understand relevant accounting requirements.

• Contribute to consistent, well‑documented accounting practices across the organization.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting standards.

• Practical experience assessing contracts and business arrangements for accounting implications, particularly revenue recognition and lease accounting.

• Strong technical writing skills, including experience preparing accounting memos, position papers, or audit support documentation.

• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close processes, trial balance reviews, account analysis, and consolidation entries.

• Strong attention to detail combined with sound professional judgment and the ability to assess complex accounting matters.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver accurate work within deadlines.

• Clear and effective communication skills, with confidence collaborating across Finance and non‑Finance functions.

• Experience working with external auditors is highly valuable; public accounting or audit experience is preferred but not required.

• CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred but not required.

• Experience within a multinational group reporting environment is a plus.

• Ability to operate effectively in an international and cross‑functional environment.
