Main Responsibilities
Analytical Leadership and Research
- Keep abreast of policy and measurement issues in the field of national and environmental-economic accounts, undertake and lead research on such issues, and produce timely responses.
- Provide intellectual leadership, guidance, and training on conceptual and practical issues in the area of national accounts, and contribute actively to advance methodological discussions with other international organizations.
- Draft working papers, articles, briefs, and other publications related to national and environmental-economic accounts.
- Make presentations as required at meetings of the OECD Working Parties on National Accounts and on Financial Statistics, the Conference on National Economic and Financial Accounts, and other OECD bodies or expert groups.
- In collaboration with SDDs Global Relations Unit, conduct statistical reviews of the national accounts and the SEEA in countries applying to join the OECD. These reviews will include collection of information, evaluation of data coverage, quality, and international comparability, and transmission of data and metadata to the OECD.
Collaboration and Representation
- Develop and maintain good professional contacts with senior officials in countries, including from national statistical offices and central banks.
- Represent the OECD in national and international meetings on national accounts and environmental-economic accounts topics, and contribute to workshops and seminars.
Management and Team Leadership
- Supervise, motivate, and contribute to the professional development of staff in NAD.
- Organize, coordinate, and direct the work of some of NAD's compiler teams, overseeing the collection, processing, and storage of statistics, and improving data management and dissemination systems.
Qualifications :
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
- An advanced university degree or equivalent qualification in statistics, economics, econometrics, or accounting.
Professional Background
- At least eight years of experience in macroeconomic statistics, with at least five years working as a national or environmental-economic accountant in a national statistical office, central bank, or international statistical organization.
- Experience in conceptual or methodological work on national accounts.
- Knowledge of the SEEA or environmental statistics is an advantage.
- Experience supervising a team of statisticians and contributing to their professional development.
Skills and Tools
- Excellent drafting skills to write reports, papers, and articles independently and efficiently.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (including Excel and SharePoint) and databases.
- Experience with statistical analysis packages such as R, Python, Stata, or SAS is an advantage.

Contract Duration
- Maximum of 3 years, fixed-term appointment.
