Job summary

TransPerfect in Paris seeks a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, ensure accurate local financial reporting, and coordinate with auditors and tax consultants. You will oversee monthly closings, VAT, and corporate tax compliance while aligning FR GAAP with US GAAP for group reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a business/finance degree with 4+ years in a multinational setting, fluent EN/FR, and strong Excel/Office skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Business Administration or a related accounting/finance field.
• Minimum 4 years in a responsibility role within a modern, international company.
• Proactive, organized, with strong problem-solving and confidentiality skills.
• Excellent knowledge of French tax legislation and FR GAAP for financial statements.
• Fluent written and spoken English and French.

Responsibilities

• Supervise monthly closure and reconciliations and ensure transactions are recorded correctly and on time.
• Prepare and close statutory financial statements and group packages per local GAAP and US GAAP, coordinating with tax consultants and auditors.
• Manage VAT and corporate tax requirements and liaise with SSC for accounting and administration issues.
• Oversee and optimize administrative-financial processes in line with internal audit rules.

Job description

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for tracking, monitoring and evaluating day-to-day accounting tasks and activities.

Main Goals

• Ensure that financial results for local legal entities are accurate. Oversee and be responsible for the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, all statutory fillings and local tax matters, support the transfer pricing document preparation in cooperation with tax consultant. P&L and Balance sheet are also in accordance with US GAAP. Ensure that all reconciliations (done by shared service centres) are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
• Detailed knowledge of calculations and filings for French VAT and payroll tax / social deductions
• Positive attitude, inclusive working style and effective communication skills are essential.
• The role will require a strong connection with AP and AR Shared Services Centres to ensure smooth operations between the country and the shared service centres.
• Provide assistance to local Management on local projects within the finance/tax area in different.
• Liaises with internal and external auditors and subject matter experts on accounting, reporting and tax issues

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise monthly closure and reconciliations and ensure accounting transactions are performed correctly on time.

• Preparation and closing of the statutory financial statements and group packages in accordance with local GAAP and US GAAP and in collaboration with tax consultants and auditors
• Control of all VAT and corporate tax requirements
• Interaction with the shared service centre for accounting and administration issues
• Management, updating and optimizing of all administrative-financial processes and procedures in accordance with internal audits rules

About You

• Degree in Business Administration or similar in the Accounting and Finance areas
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a responsibility role in a modern structured and international company
• Proactive approach, organizational capacity, problem solving, confidentiality, ability to work in a team and leadership experience
• Good knowledge of French tax legislation and general accounting of financial statements in FR GAAP
• Fluent in written and spoken English and French
• Good knowledge of Great Plains beneficial
• Strong knowledge of Office package and in particular Excel at an advanced level
