The Security Department follows Standard Operating Guidelines to accomplish the safety and security of all patients, visitors, and employees at Down East Community and Calais Community Hospital. Security remains vigilant in identifying security and safety issues that arise, logging any issues in an incident report to be reviewed by the Security Supervisor. Security follows specific rounds, checking for unlocked doors and anything out of the ordinary. Security assists all departments with patient monitoring, lift assists, patient restraints, and any other duties that the department feels are in direct association with the security and safety of both hospitals.

Minimum Requirements:

1. High School Graduate, trade school or equivalent
2. Ability to routinely use maintenance products and solutions
3. Must be able to follow instructions both written and verbal
4. Adapts well to sudden changes
5. Able to work with minimal supervision
6. Communicates non-routine items/issues to the Security Supervisor
7. Conducts routine rounds of the building
8. Assists in monitoring patients as needed
9. Completes work order assignments as time allows
10. Maintains courteous and respectful manner with other departments
11. Always displays a positive and professional attitude
12. Must be willing to cover shifts at other job sites when necessary
