As the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering, you will shape and execute our enterprise security strategy. Your main responsibility will be to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of security architecture and engineering practices, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

Sub-functions responsible for include:

  • Security Architecture
  • Security Engineering
  • Identity and Access Management

What you will do:

  • Security Architecture Leadership: Develop and maintain the company's security architecture framework aligned with business goals and industry standards.
  • Engineering Oversight: Lead security engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls.
  • Threat Intelligence: Monitor cyber threats and vulnerabilities, integrating threat intelligence into security strategies.
  • Security Technology Roadmap: Establish and manage the security technology roadmap, driving adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Build relationships with senior stakeholders to align security initiatives with business strategies.
  • Team Development and Management: Recruit, train, and lead a cybersecurity team fostering continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Budget Management: Oversee security budgets, resource allocation, and procurement.
  • Vendor Management: Manage security-related vendor relationships and contracts.

What we’re looking for:

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related fields.
  • Proven leadership in security architecture and engineering roles.
  • Deep knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to assess complex security situations and make decisions.

  • Flexible, with good prioritization and planning skills.
  • Clear communicator, capable of delivering difficult messages positively.
