About the Job

Sanofi small molecule portfolio is in constant expansion with many assets being part of the late-stage development activities with the objectives of several medicines to reach the market in the next few years. The synthetics department is a multi-disciplinary development team spread over 3 sites (based in US & France) creating a vibrant and forward-thinking mindset. It is moving at incredible pace toward new technologies such as digital, robotization or continuous processing, including the implementation of the Pharma 4.0 principals.

CMC Synthetics is looking for a highly motivated expert in process engineering striving for positive results by applying his/her technical/scientific expertise to integrate the Process Engineering team located in Sisteron, FR.

Main responsabilities:

  • Develop chromatographic processes using simulation tools incorporating artificial intelligence. They will then be tested on a small scale before being transposed onto an industrial column. This methodology will be applied both to the isolation of impurities and to the purification of crude product after reaction. All these laboratory tests will be carried out on 100% automated and robotized equipment
  • Deploy innovative technologies such as supercritical fluid chromatography and centrifugal partition chromatography
  • Work closely with other departments (Chemistry – Pilot plant - Analysis) and other Process Engineering laboratories in the network (France and USA) to develop innovative and high-performance processes
  • Assume the role of process engineering leader on projects
  • Provide concise technical presentations to communicate work to project teams, cross-functional teams, and management
  • Build an external network (academics, consortium) to deploy innovative technologies within Sanofi and new digital tools: Digital Twin, intelligent feedback loop, modeling
  • Co-manage the analytical platform. This platform is key to the strategy of development activities to ensure the industrialization of Sanofi's new Synthetics DS portfolio
About you

Experience:

  • Expert in the use of robots and in programming
  • Experience in the development and industrialization of chromatographic processes with a minimum of 3 years in process R&D laboratory

Soft and technical skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the separation principles of LC
  • Knowledge in chemical development and scale-up
  • Knowledge of on-line analysis would be a plus
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and adapt to project/customer requirements
  • Creative and innovative, you enjoy sharing your experience and working as part of a team

Education:

  • Engineer or PhD: process engineering or analytical engineer

Languages:

  • English: experienced level required (C1)
