BIOVIA is seeking a motivated Scientific Software Engineer experienced in building and extending cheminformatics methods and tools to join our R&D team in San Diego, CA in an onsite/hybrid role.

• This role will focus on C++ programming to develop and maintain our suite of chemistry products and applications.
• These applications are central to BIOVIA’s enterprise solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and fine-chemical industries.
• The position involves working within a dynamic development team committed to delivering high-quality, on-time software releases using Agile practices.

Qualifications

· PhD in Organic, Computational, or related Chemistry discipline with relevant programming experience is preferred; education plus experience will also be considered.

· 2+ years of combined academic and professional experience in chemistry and computer science.

· Proficiency in C++.

· Familiarity with pharmaceutical and biotech industry use cases, cheminformatics, and computational chemistry is a plus.

· Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, and software development methodologies.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and learning drive.

· Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum.
