Job Description
Orient Express Sailing Yachts seeks an experienced Sales Operations Manager reporting to the VP Sales & Marketing.
As a Sales Operations Manager, you will be responsible for qualifying and closing sales deals in collaboration with the Areas and MICE Directors of Sales. This role also serves as the day-to-day contact for clients post-sale and will oversee the coordination of full ship charters and large corporate programs to ensure successful onboard yacht events and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up on qualified leads
- Assist with sales presentations alongside Directors of Sales
- Create proposals and review all sales quotes & contracts accurately
- Act as the main contact for finalized and contracted sales deals, transitioning from sales to operations management
- Attend departmental training, industry networking events, and client meetings
- Help achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual departmental goals
- Collect and input all trip details for Charter, Meeting, and Incentive groups, updating as needed
- Plan and coordinate customized events, onboard programming, entertainment, special food & beverage requests, excursions, and itineraries, in line with client agreements
- Create and distribute yacht memos and operational plans with all necessary information
- Participate in pre-con meetings, either in person or virtually, and follow up on action items
- Escort day visits and site sailings
- Travel with clients for operational meetings, site inspections, and onboard liaison
- Ensure payments are received before sailing, according to contract terms
- Develop marketing plans in collaboration with the marketing department
- Coordinate with itinerary planning and destination experience teams for logistics
- Collaborate with Operations on group or charter requests
- Develop event management system requirements with IT and hotel operations
- Maintain sales records and preferences in the events system
- Address service issues promptly and escalate when necessary
- Oversee program wrap-up, including documentation, client feedback, and financial reconciliation
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: At least 3 years in sales operations, cruise program planning, or onboard ship operations; shipboard experience preferred
Languages: Fluent in French and English
