With strong vendor relationships and operations in multiple European countries, this distributor is a market leader for several globally recognised technology brands—and is known for its value-added approach to IT distribution, infrastructure design, and security.

The Opportunity

The company is now looking to hire its first Sales Manager in France , based in Paris . This is a critical and high-impact leadership role as the business begins its strategic expansion into the French market.

You'll be the only team member on the ground at the start , responsible for building the commercial presence, shaping the local go-to-market strategy, and developing both vendor and customer relationships. Over time, you’ll build and lead a local sales team , with a clear trajectory toward becoming Country Manager – France within 6–12 months .

Key Responsibilities

  • Launch and lead the company’s French commercial operations from the ground up
  • Define and execute a local go-to-market plan aligned to the broader European strategy
  • Drive sales performance with a value-led, consultative selling approach
  • Build new customer relationships and grow vendor partnerships
  • Lay the foundations for a scalable and high-performing commercial team
  • Hire, enable, and develop future team members as the business grows
  • Work cross-functionally with UK and EU leadership to share insights and align on execution
  • Drive structure, accountability, and commercial discipline from day one

Ideal Profile

  • Strong sales or commercial leadership background in B2B or enterprise tech
  • Experience building new markets or teams from the ground up
  • Excellent understanding of value-based selling and solution-led sales approaches
  • Strong vendor and customer relationship-building capabilities
  • Comfortable being the first hire and operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance execution and strategy
  • Hands-on leader who leads by example and thrives in lean, agile environments
  • Able to transition into Country Manager as the team scales

Requirements

  • Based in or able to commute regularly to Paris
  • Willingness to travel across France, the UK, and other European markets
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Proven ability to grow sales, build structure, and develop teams
  • Experience in IT distribution, technology sales, or enterprise infrastructure a plus
  • Understanding of regional differences in European IT markets
  • Experience in a startup or scale-up environment within tech or distribution

Compensation

  • Salary of €55,000 + Package + OTE
  • Attractive bonus and commission plan tied to sales and business performance
