The Sales Director will work closely with the Country Manager of Russell Investments France to develop the French market, focusing on the Wealth/wholesale segment.

This role will cover Russell's expertise across all business channels, including OCIO/FM, Customised Portfolio Solutions, and Private Markets. The goal is to grow the business through sales, develop relationships, and manage RFI/RFP processes aligned with Russell's expertise.

The focus will be on promoting bespoke Investment and Efficiency solutions, covering traditional liquid strategies and Private Markets. Building partnerships and solutions is essential, leveraging Russell's research, technology, and open architecture. Target segments include Wealth Management (Private Banks, IFA networks), Insurance (Unit-Linked), and institutional investors like pension plans in France. Familiarity with francophone European markets (Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco, Switzerland) is a plus.

This position operates from Russell Investments France, reporting directly to the Country Manager. The Country Manager will coordinate with regional managers for performance reviews, regulatory compliance, and other requirements.

The responsibilities include:

  2. Identify and build relationships with prospects in Wealth Management and institutional investors in France and francophone Europe to generate new business and partnerships.
  3. Develop solutions tailored for the Wealth segment.
  4. Identify Russell Investments services and products suitable for clients.
  5. Create presentations and positioning strategies for Russell Investments.
  6. Position Russell as a trusted partner and deliver content, knowledge, and investment insights.
  7. Coordinate with the sales teams and support structures to structure relationships.
  8. Organize sales events like webinars and roadshows.
  9. Analyze market trends and key players.
  1. Relationships Development
  2. Handle prospect requests and collaborate with client service, compliance, and investment teams on existing accounts.
  3. Lead specific sales projects (e.g., ESG strategies, distribution agreements, private assets).
  4. Provide feedback on distribution network needs and product development.
  5. Develop a distributor database.

  2. Adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
  3. Identify, escalate, and resolve risks and compliance issues collaboratively.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in economics or finance.
  • 10-15+ years in asset management business development, especially in Wealth, with exceptional candidates considered with less experience.
  • Proven ability to develop senior networks with customized solutions.
  • AMF certification (or willingness to obtain within six months).
  • Familiarity with Multi Management/open architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French.
  • Strong product and investment expertise.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
