We are now hiring Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) for senior living homes in Ottawa. Our client offers a competitive compensation package, and this is a 6-month full-time contract with health and dental benefits. Candidates must hold a current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN) and be able to provide a copy of their nursing license to demonstrate good standing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Utilize sound nursing practice principles and provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician's orders, and the resident's care plan.
  2. Identify residents' needs and develop and maintain appropriate care plans.
  3. Ensure a timely and accessible admission process for residents.
  4. Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensuring protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
  5. Hold a Diploma in Practical Nursing, with current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  6. Possess sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration.
  7. Be familiar with the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations, the relevant sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, and Food & Drug Act.
