ROV & Survey Project Manager

The ROV & Survey Project Manager shall be responsible for the delivery of assigned projects within the DeepOcean Africa Region. The Project Manager is accountable for project performance and delivery across all phases, ensuring compliance with organisational processes, safety, occupational health, environmental, and asset considerations.

Role Specific

• Understand the project contract, scope, requirements, and execution plan.
• Inform superiors of any critical matters affecting project performance or company interests, in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule, meeting client needs, business objectives, and HSEQS standards.
• Act as the primary contact for the project team and support project delivery during all phases.
• Identify key project optimizations and variations.
• Support commercial processes for tenders and opportunities with technical and cost inputs.

Key Tasks

• Take responsibility for HSEQS performance, focusing on continuous improvement and addressing lagging events.
• Ensure compliance with the organisational Project Model and BMS processes.
• Maintain internal and external project reporting and participate in Monthly Project Reviews (MPR).
• Optimize ROV asset and equipment scheduling for project and adjacent project efficiency.
• Coordinate with asset and operations management for ROV maintenance scheduling.
• Establish and monitor project execution methodologies, ensuring team capability.
• Represent DeepOcean as the single point of contact in active contracts and liaise with client representatives.
• Proactively pursue additional business opportunities with clients and operational networks.
• Perform site and vessel visits to support ongoing operations.
• Contribute to project/budget planning and approve project costs within authority limits.
• Promote continuous improvement, lessons learned, and knowledge transfer.
• Report project concerns to the Projects and Operations Director for resolution.
• Liaise with supporting functions for project requirements, HSEQ, operations, crewing, engineering, and cost control.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or relevant education.
• Membership in the Project Management Institute.
• Operational knowledge and experience in ROV operations.
• Minimum of 10 years in a related industry role.
• Operational experience in engineering, survey, inspection, or offshore management.
• Commercial experience in tender participation or management.

The role reports to the Project & Operations Director of the Africa Region and is based at the Sète office in the south of France. The position can be staff or contract-based.
