Job summary

Wandercraft is seeking an experienced robotics control engineer to join the Whole Body Control team in Paris. You will develop control algorithms for exoskeletons and humanoid robots, from formulation and simulation to deployment on real hardware.

You will work on locomotion, manipulation, multi-contact control and trajectory optimization with a focus on robustness, performance and real-time execution. Master’s or PhD in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with robotics, control, motion generation, trajectory optimization or related algorithmic development, through industry, research or significant academic projects.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python; experience implementing control algorithms on real robots.
• Familiarity with state estimation, perception or sensor data processing.
• Background in robotics, controls, optimization, or related mathematical fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop whole-body control algorithms for exoskeletons and humanoid robots.
• Design control strategies using linear/nonlinear control, MPC, NMPC.
• Develop online/offline trajectory optimization and motion generation algorithms.
• Improve trajectory tracking for locomotion and manipulation.
• Model robot dynamics, contacts and interactions with the environment.
• Develop or integrate state-estimation algorithms from sensor data.
• Explore learning-based approaches when relevant.
• Write efficient, maintainable software in C++ and Python.
• Test, debug and validate algorithms on real robots.
• Contribute to architecture and long-term technical direction of the control stack.
