Job summary

Alice & Bob in Paris (Aubervilliers) is seeking an RF Sub Systems Design & Characterization Intern to support RF hardware development for quantum control. You’ll work under senior engineers to design, test, and validate RF components and sub-systems from room temperature to cryogenic environments.

The role covers integration, data acquisition, and automation of test workflows, with topics including cryogenic bias tees and RF readout optimization.

Qualifications

• Engineering or master's student in microwave RF / related field.
• Strong understanding of RF systems and S-parameters.
• Experience with RF test equipment and measurements.
• Familiarity with RF CAD tools (HFSS, Keysight ADS).
• Python for RF data analysis (NumPy, scikit-rf, matplotlib).
• Able to work in a team and communicate in English (B1/B2).

Responsibilities

• Integrate and test control electronics and instrumentation with senior engineers.
• Characterize and design RF hardware at room and cryogenic temperatures.
• Rapidly prototype RF sub-systems for Qubits control.
• Evaluate RF component manufacturing technologies for performance and feasibility.
• Assist with test bench setup, cabling, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform lab measurements using RF bench equipment (VNAs, analyzers).
• Define and automate test programs to qualify hardware.
• Prepare complete test plans and document results.
• Monitor stock of instruments and components.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate quantum chip control systems.
