Reporting to the Technology Implementation Manager, the Process Control Automation Support Engineer provides support, direction and technical leadership to SGG manufacturing sites in the development of automation and control systems to support process improvements and plant performance. These areas include Calcination, Drying, Mixing and Forming.

Your tasks will include :

• Work closely with others to meet the EH&S Standards
• Develop and lead implementation of manufacturing optimization and process control tools
• Advise / Assist Process Support and Plant Teams with improvement projects.
• Conduct troubleshooting activities.
• Provide input on MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems like In4.0rm) and other systems related to database driven solutions, SCADA, Real Time Data Analysis required for smooth and efficient Production.
• Perform automation assessments in the plants, propose automation improvement road maps and support plants in their execution
• Provide training and coaching on Automation & Control to ensure that the project teams and plant personnel have sufficient knowledge and understanding
• Act as a Company SME (Subject Matter Expert) expert in areas related to the automation of equipment, Industrial control systems and Process control applications
• Lead and coordinate investigations and studies with little supervision.
• Consult cross-functionally as an SME on systems and / or processes within your functional area.

International travel up to 50%. Provide on-site support to plants and attend / provide Technical Training Courses.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Qualification in an Engineering or Science subject

JOB EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment as a Automation Engineer, ideally in plasterboard manufacturing site. The job demands a good level of :

• Excellent Knowledge of Automation and Control Systems
• Understanding of Process Engineering
• Communication
• Manufacturing Process understanding
• Team work
