We invite you to become the M&T Legal Entity Controller of a manufacturing site and join the Financial Control & Accounting (FC&A) team for the “M&T and Premix”. Our FC&A EMEA team of around 140 professionals is embarking on an exciting journey towards achieving ambitious goals, and we are seeking a talented individual who shares our passion for excellence and innovation.

You will have the opportunity to implement and supervise structured interactions with all relevant stakeholders: BG account manager, other financial control teams (CCS, OCS, TP), Financial Shared Services, internal and external auditors, Lead Management Accountant and Business Partner.

The role will also give the opportunity to manage a full trial balance to own the actuals.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Ensures delivery and execution of the finance actuals, closing and reporting activities for the assigned reporting unit(s).
• Performs a sanity check of the P&L and coordinates variances analysis compared to the actuals (e.g. prior month, quarter, or run-rate).
• Ensures integrity of financial statements and management reports in accordance with DSM Accounting Rules, international and local statutory accounting standards.
• Performs Balance Sheet monitoring, including financial variance analysis and understanding of open items.
• Reviews integrity and quality of all sub ledgers (including balance reconciliation).
• Coordinates supporting documentation on accruals, provisions and special items.
• Monitors the financial closing process.
• Leads the pre-close meeting and translates business development to DAR accounting.
• Oversees implementations like judgement-based accruals.
• Actively monitors the closing process based on the financial closing cockpit.
• Defines and follows up on mitigation actions in case of issues during the closing in order to ensure correct and complete actuals and meet defined deadlines.
• Drives the monthly evaluation meeting and follows up on occurred issues and defined improvements actions.
• Supports the business with the setting up of the budget and forecast cycles.
• Uploads and locks budget and RAF data in CFIN.
• Provides reports for Provisions/Accruals.
• Supports Management Reporting BG/BU, Monthly Reporting Deck Forecast/Actuals and Cashflow.
• Ensures integrity of data used in management reports related to the legal entity.
• Ensures compliance with DSM internal control requirements.
• Monitors the internal control framework on a monthly basis and follows up on remediation plans.
• Acts as a single point of contact for all internal and external audits.
• Follows up on financial audit findings.
• Ensures that assets and liabilities are correctly and completely recognized.
• Ensures that roles and responsibilities are in line with the (updated) ARIS flows and makes sure that processes are performed according to the approved standard House of Finance processes.

You Bring

• (post) Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling, and/or licensed certified public accountant.
• >4 years of experience in Accounting/Controlling/Audit.
• Knowledge and experience in a Shared Service environment.
• In-depth understanding of Finance and Accounting processes.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (SAPR3).
• Fluent in English and in French.
