You will work at the ISTerre research laboratory (www.isterre.fr ). ISTerre is a joint research unit (UMR) comprising ~300 people funded by (UGA / CNRS/ USMB / IRD / Univ Gustave Eiffel). It is part of the Observatory of Universe Sciences (OSUG) at the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), which has national responsibility for numerous national observation services.
The ERC SyG research project, MEET, on which the postdoc will work, is funded by the European Research Council Executive Agency. 'MEET' stands for 'Monitoring Earth Evolution Through Time'. The ERC grant budget has been allocated to three research teams working together and based in France at UGA, Grenoble, in Germany at GFZ, Potsdam, and in the United States at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
The ERC MEET team in Grenoble is part of the ISTerre Mineralogy team and will be composed of the following members: Alexander Sobolev: Principal Investigator, Valentina Batanova: Research Engineer, Adrien Vezinet: Postdoctoral Fellow, Fabrice Brunet, Carole Cordier and Nick Arndt: Associate Scientists, Mateo Esteban: PhD Student, Valérie Magnin: Technical Engineer, Carole Burget: ERC Synergy Project Manager.
Training in Earth sciences. You must have experience in Raman spectroscopy, particularly in measuring H₂O in glass, in EPMA and LA-ICP-MS analytical techniques, as well as in efficient sample preparation and the study of melt inclusions in olivine.
