The iNanoT project aims to develop nanocarriers for theranostic applications and to establish methodological procedures for the characterization of these nanomaterials. In this context, the recruited candidate (M/F) will contribute to the development of anticancer nanocarriers based on the association of mesoporous silica nanoparticles developed at the ICB laboratory [1] and gold nanoparticles synthesized by Prof. S. Roux's team at the LCE Laboratory in Besançon. Given the encapsulation capabilities and radiosensitizing properties of these nanoparticles, respectively, their combination will enable the formation of nanoassemblies capable of combining radiotherapy and chemotherapy—an approach considered among the most promising for the treatment of tumors resistant to conventional therapies. The mesoporous silica nanoparticles will need to be functionalized in order to (i) optimize the encapsulation efficiency of a model therapeutic agent and (ii) be temporarily linked to gold nanoparticles via a cleavable linker, thereby enabling the preferential release of the therapeutic agent at the targeted site.
The research activities of the recruited candidate will focus on :

Skills/Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate (M/F) with a PhD in chemistry or an engineering degree in chemistry. The candidate should have recognized expertise in the functionalization of nanomaterials, as well as in the synthesis and physicochemical characterization of nanomaterials for biomedical applications. Expertise in click chemistry would be appreciated for the development of the cleavable linker. Experience in the field of biological sciences (e.g., cell culture techniques, cytotoxicity assays) would also be an asset.
The candidate should be familiar with the main characterization tools specific to nanomaterials (TGA, XRD, nitrogen physisorption, TEM, UV/Vis and FTIR spectroscopy, DLS, zeta potential analysis, etc.) and to organic molecules (HPLC, NMR, etc.).
