Mistral in Paris is seeking a Research Engineer to advance cybersecurity capabilities across RL, model training, and production pipelines. You\'ll design and build RL environments that simulate realistic security scenarios and contribute to scalable synthetic data generation.

You will collaborate with researchers and security experts, write clean Python, and own the CI/CD workflow and infrastructure. The role combines research and engineering in a dynamic, globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on offensive and/or defensive cybersecurity experience.
• Strong software engineering with well-tested code.
• Fluent in Python; comfortable with C/C++ reading.
• DevOps experience including Docker, Kubernetes and cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with RL techniques and ML training methods.
• Self-starter who collaborates across research and engineering.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement RL environments simulating cyber scenarios.
• Build pipelines that generate synthetic cybersecurity training data at scale.
• Conduct experiments and evaluations of model capabilities.
• Own infrastructure behind environments: containers, sandboxes, VMs, Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with researchers and security specialists to produce reproducible environments.
• Write clear, efficient Python code with testing, reviews, and CI/CD.
