Mistral is seeking a Research Engineer to advance cybersecurity capabilities across RL environments, training pipelines, and evaluation frameworks. Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise in offensive and/or defensive cybersecurity.
• Strong software engineering with clean, well-tested code.
• Fluency in Python and reading C/C++ for vulnerability analysis.
• DevOps experience: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud deployments, sandboxed environments.
• Pragmatic research-to-engineering mindset: ship a working first version, then scale.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement RL environments simulating cybersecurity scenarios.
• Build pipelines and infrastructure that generate synthetic cybersecurity training instances at scale.
• Conduct experiments and evaluations of model capabilities on these environments.
• Own the infrastructure behind the environments: containers, sandboxes, VMs, cloud deployments, and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Partner with researchers and security specialists across Mistral to distill domain expertise into reproducible environments and datasets.
• Write clear, efficient Python code and enforce strong software-design practices: testing, code review, CI/CD.
