Universite de Montpellier, based at the Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier (ICGM), invites applications for a postdoctoral position in chemistry. The GREENTEA project focuses on materials chemistry, robotics, AI, and high-throughput synthesis.

The successful candidate will develop and implement high-throughput solution-based synthesis for sulfide thermoelectric materials, plus characterization and data-driven optimization, in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in chemistry or related field.
• Expertise in solid-state chemistry or functional materials.
• Experience with X-ray diffraction and structural characterization.
• Desirable: thermoelectric materials, ML or data analysis, Python programming.

Responsabilités

• Develop high-throughput solution synthesis protocols.
• Characterize structure using WAXS and synchrotron X-ray techniques.
• Apply machine learning and Bayesian optimization to guide synthesis.
• Scale up promising materials for full thermoelectric characterization.
• Share results through high-impact publications and presentations.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to the GREENTEA network.
