Institut de Chimie Séparative de Marcoule (ICSM) in Montpellier conducts molecular and multiscale modelling to study complex solutions for metal recycling. You will perform molecular simulations to determine equilibrium properties, structures, and complexation, collaborating with experimental teams.
The role focuses on defining interaction potentials, validating models with experimental results, and investigating transport properties such as viscosity in conjunction with microfluidic studies.

- work environment:This is molecular and multi-scale modelling work carried out in the Mesoscopic Modelling and Theoretical Chemistry laboratory, part of the Institut deChimie Séparative de Marcoule, a joint CEA/CNRS/ENSCM/University of Montpellier unit.
- main mission:The aim is to carry out mainly molecular simulations of complex solutions in order to study their properties for metal recycling. This work will be carried outin collaboration with experimentalists who will be conducting parallel studies on the same system.
- activities:First of all, the system will defined, particularly with regard to the interaction potentials. Direct simulation will then be used to calculate the equilibriumproperties, structure and complexation associated with the system. The model can then be validated or improved by comparison with experiments. Secondly, we will study thetransport properties, and in particular the viscosity, which will be studied in conjunction with microfluidic experiments. A mesoscopic interface model will be obtained.
The net monthly salary is between €2,200 and €2,380
The contract duration is 12 months
