We now invite applications for the captioned post for HKU Stroke.

HKU Stroke is at the forefront of stroke and dementia research and is currently actively engaged in a large range of projects relating to stroke and dementia prevention and management. Current projects include investigating the role of the gut microbiota with vascular and brain health; use of big datasets, hospital-based registries, advanced neuroimaging techniques and blood-based biomarkers to predict outcomes and facilitate personalised medicine; and use of digital health platforms and artificial intelligence in stroke and dementia. Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist a range of clinical research studies at HKU Stroke (HKU Stroke Research and Prevention Group) of HKUMed
  • Projects coordination; liaison and recruitment of subjects; questionnaire administration and performing assessments of clinical trials
  • Data collection, entry, organization and analysis; writing reports and manuscripts
  • Work with a vibrant multidisciplinary team including health care professionals, statisticians and data scientists, basic scientists and those specialising in neuroimaging
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably related to Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Psychology, Medical Statistics or a related discipline
  • A good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese)
  • A strong sense of responsibility
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Previous experience in health sciences research would be preferred
  • Those with lower qualifications or less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
