Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Petroleum Process Engineer for a fully remote role focused on optimizing and designing complex hydrocarbon processes. The position emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and data-driven improvements across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of process engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemicals, with strong skills in HYSYS/Aspen Plus, thermodynamics, and PSM/HAZOP studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP studies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and optimize hydrocarbon processing units and systems.
• Analyze operational performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Develop technical specifications and documentation for new equipment and process modifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, field engineers, and research scientists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues in upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.
