Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Mechanical Design / CAD Expert for a remote, contract-based role. You will contribute to advanced CAD-driven design solutions, assess manufacturability, and support tolerancing through GD&T and DFM principles.

You will review drawings, optimize geometric modeling for assemblies, and share best practices in manufacturing engineering while collaborating across teams. Commitment ranges 10-40 hrs/week with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience in production design with GD&T and DFM principles.
• Proficient in CAD platforms: SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
• Strong knowledge of tribology, engineering mechanics, and geometric dimensioning.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering and end-to-end product development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide input on mechanical design solutions using advanced CAD tools.
• Evaluate and critique engineering drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Assess design for manufacturability and tolerance analysis.
• Contribute insights on engineering mechanics and geometric modeling.
• Review and enhance graphics and geometric modeling representations for assemblies.
• Offer guidance on best practices in manufacturing engineering and simulate design scenarios.
