Metabase is hiring an experienced Controller to own accounting and financial operations, including core accounting, audit, tax, payments, and expense management. Today we rely on external firms, with potential to bring accounting in-house over time.

Qualifications

Active CPA
Expertise in US GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition
Experience managing month-end close and audits end-to-end
Background in startups or Big Four audit is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsabilités

General ledger & close — manage month-end close, coordinate with external accountants; resolve discrepancies
Audit — own external auditor relationship; coordinate information requests; address issues
Tax — manage external tax accountants; handle registrations and payments
Accounts payable & expenses — run payment cycle; manage corporate card/expense system
Over time — lead ERP, revenue recognition, payments implementations; may build in-house close
