Job summary

InSpek seeks a hands-on PIC Engineer to own the physical realization of PIC-based sensing probes—from packaging to module characterization and supplier coordination. You’ll collaborate with photonics and applications engineers and share optical testing duties, reporting to the Head of Photonics.

You bring 2+ years of industrial PIC experience, familiarity with PIC packaging, optical fibres, and free-space components, and strong documentation. English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial experience with PIC-based products.
• Experience with PIC packaging, optical fibres, and free-space optical components.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Characterization & testing of chips and packaging.
• Develop packaging processes with external partners to optimize repeatability and yield.
• Coordinate packaging runs and assembly workflows with subcontractors.
• Act as primary technical contact with packaging subcontractors and component suppliers.
• Define technical requirements, review proposals, and manage component validation.
• Manage procurement, timelines, and supplier documentation.
• Build and maintain assembly protocols; ensure traceability after each run.
• Maintain records of changes to support cross-functional debugging.
