Speechify, a distributed company with no office, is seeking a backend engineer to own and evolve our API stack. You will work on payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API across multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, web, and Chrome extension.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience with TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS/Azure.
• Ability to ship reliable, scalable services.
• Hands-on with AI-enabled workflows is a plus.

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and TTS APIs.
• Improve services to be faster, cheaper, and harder to break.
• Verify correctness before shipping and leave behind checks.
• Automate repetitive parts of your role.
• Turn one-off work into repeatable processes for the team.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web to advance backend architecture.
