As part of the ongoing Retail transformation, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional POS Application Owner to join the Chanel Tech Europe team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and functional background, with proven experience in deploying Point of Sale (POS) systems across international retail environments.

A POS (Point of Sale) Regional Application Owner plays a key role in managing and optimizing POS systems across multiple locations within a specific region.

WHAT IMPACT YOU CREATE AT CHANEL

The POS Regional Application Owner is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and continuous improvement of Point of Sale systems across a defined geographic region. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that POS platforms support operational efficiency, customer experience, and regional compliance.

Application Strategy & Vision

  • Define and communicate the regional POS application vision aligned with the adopt strategy. Clearly articulate the vision & objectives of the new POS.
  • Identify regional market trends, customer needs, and business goals to shape product direction.
  • Assist regional business head to submit business gaps and evolution to the Design Authority, following the 90/10 framework and the adopt strategy.
  • Monitor Oracle solution updates and propose continuous improvements.
  • Stay up to date with Oracle Retail trends and best practices.

Backlog & Roadmap Management

  • Own and prioritize the regional application backlog. Manage the application backlog: write user stories, prioritize features, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and integration teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Ensure functional alignment between XStore (POS) and SIOCS (inventory operations).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all regional POS application-related inquiries and decisions.
  • Collect & integrate feedback from cross-region users & stakeholders to refine the Oracle solution.
  • Collaborate with the POS factory to align on feature releases and enhancements. Ensure the POS Factory delivers features that meet business needs and regional roll-out requirements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of features and fixes based on regional priorities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between regional business units, regional Tech teams, and the POS factory.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into actionable user stories.
  • Facilitate regular feedback loops with the new POS team, operations, finance, key users, and support teams.

Implementation & Support

  • Oversee regional rollouts of new POS features, hardware, and integrations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful market deployment (market and boutique configurations, data migration, etc.).
  • Coordinate training and support for local IT teams.
  • Develop and deliver training support and documentation for Retail support teams (service transition to the Retail Contact Center for support and troubleshooting post-deployment).
  • Monitor system performance and user adoption, addressing issues proactively.
  • Ensure POS system quality and performance standards are met. Oversee regional testing, validation processes, and manage necessary adjustments or improvements.

Compliance & Localization

  • Ensure POS systems comply with local laws, tax regulations, and payment standards.
  • Customize features to meet regional language, currency, and operational needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in a retail environment. 3–5+ years of experience in product ownership, preferably in retail.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle XStore and SIOCS platforms.
  • Solid understanding of store operations, inventory management, and customer experience.
  • Strong understanding of POS systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical topics for business users. Stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical mindset, results-oriented, and user-focused.
  • Professional proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
