We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Logistics Director responsible for the distribution of finished goods to VELUX customers in the region SouthWest (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands).

The role is tactical and strategic in identifying future logistics needs at customers, transforming these needs into value-adding solutions. It involves leading and managing operational excellence in the outsourced downstream part of the supply chain, driving business development, and ensuring alignment and optimal utilization of competences and resources within the regional team.

It’s an important pivot role adding value through active participation in the Regional Management team and the global Market Logistics & Sourcing team.

Activities:

  • Lead and develop the Regional Logistics Team, enabling a high engagement level and building talent.
  • Responsible for regional distribution in terms of service levels, operational costs, performance, and continuous improvement of setup.
  • Drive simplification internally & towards partners, founded in lean toolbox & mindset and a set of strong well-defined processes (globally applicable).
  • Drive collaboration within own team, the Market region, global logistics, and towards 3rd parties including suppliers and customers.
  • Develop and deliver market logistic solutions while following & developing global standards.
  • Actively engage in identifying, developing, and implementing strategic & tactical initiatives in a market context.
  • Drive efficiencies/productivity within the regional distribution setup applying an E2E value chain understanding.
  • Facilitate regional & global initiatives in areas of, but not limited to, VOS, strategy deployment/development, business processes, performance management, and ways of working.
  • Accountable for the logistics budgets and costs in the region.
  • Operational escalation point, Logistics Service Provider (LSP) responsibility including performance, capacity & quality, and annual budgets and follow-up.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills in both people management and functional areas, internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with multiple levels within and outside the organization.
  • Proficiency in distribution, distribution centers, customer supply chains, and third-party engagements.
  • Demonstrated collaboration across multiple organizational layers and with external partners.
  • Proven ability to execute business plans, strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate trade-off discussions with stakeholders effectively.

Requirements:

  • Solid management experience within supply chain.
  • Education/level in logistics or equivalent.
  • Fluency in French and English to work in an international environment.
  • People, organization, and solution-oriented personality.
