The Regional Indirect Procurement Director Europe is part of the Global Indirect Procurement function and a member of the Indirect Procurement Management team. The Indirect Procurement scope at Constellium covers all categories to the exclusion of metals and energy and is extensively made of categories with a significant technical dimension (e.g., refractories, coatings & lubricants, industrial equipment, chemicals, heavy load transportation, MRO, industrial maintenance services). We expect from the candidate a demonstrated experience in a comparable industry and on industrial and technical categories. This is a new role with a dual responsibility. First responsibility is to lead the Indirect Procurement teams of the Region and ensure the right achievement of objectives and actively support the development of synergies across sites in the Region. Second responsibility is to drive global initiatives that support the Indirect Procurement Transformation and proactively participate in leadership team activities and decisions. Both responsibilities are of equal importance.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee European Indirect Procurement activities and bring support and guidance to Sites Indirect Directors and teams along adequate regional governance.
- Ensure that annual objectives are in line with local and global multi-year objectives and fairly defined across sites and in comparison to those in other Regions.
- Monitor the delivery on financials and non-financials goals and ensure remediation actions are set where needed.
- Bring support on the resolution of complex or multi-sites issues.
- Coordinate the development of regional teams efficiency and effectiveness through organizational processes and skills improvements.
- Lead synergies development within the Region and across Regions to improve Procurement value and impact
- Identify purchases, suppliers, or resources. Synergies across sites include targets in Region/Sites objectives and ensure delivery.
- Actively support an efficient action of GCMs in the Region by providing insights on Strategies by articulating category roadmaps with sites action plans and by ensuring the delivery of targets.
- Coordinate the deployment of global category strategies in the Region (processes, tools).
- Drive Indirect Procurement transformation global initiatives
- Actively participate in the definition/update of the global transformation plan/roadmap.
- Take the operational lead on a number of complex initiatives that will be identified on a regular basis.
- Take an active role in the review/guidance of the overall transformation plan together with other Senior members of the Indirect Procurement Management team.
- Support the progress with other projects of the Group.
Leadership competencies and technical skills requirement
Experience
- 15 years of experience in Procurement, of which at least 5 years in Procurement Senior Management Positions (e.g., Plant procurement director) for large and international companies.
- Demonstrated experience on technical categories in relation to the scope of this position (e.g., refractories, chemicals, coatings & lubricants, heavy load transportation, industrial equipment for process industry, MRO, etc.).
- Successful experience(s) in driving transformation in complex and decentralized organizations (not just maintaining the current status).
- Deep knowledge of Procurement from transactional activities to strategic activities and in different environments.
- Strong conceptual skills to understand complex existing environments, run issue analyses, define target models/patterns, and organize progress pathways.
- Strong project management skills to lead, contribute, and deliver on complex and transformative initiatives with the right balance of push and pull.
- Strong messaging and storytelling skills to engage procurement and non-procurement stakeholders in operational and/or transformative action.
- Strong writing and oral presentation skills including a good level in MS PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to manage Senior Procurement teams and rightly adjust management style to individuals to best balance the need for guidance/support and autonomy/ownership.
- Demonstrated ability in change management, performance management, team building, and resource planning and management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by influence and rally teams to a vision and plan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills on top of high professional tenure to win over senior stakeholders' trust and collaboration.
- Result-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Academic background
- Master preferred in Business or engineering from a Tier 1 university.
- Language fluency in English and French; German would be a plus.
This role includes significant travel time to connect face to face with local teams.
