The Incident Director at EFPRP plays a vital role in coordinating response efforts to environmental incidents, particularly wildfires, across various European regions.

This role involves managing and leading rapid-response teams, coordinating with local and regional authorities, and implementing response protocols to mitigate damage and protect both communities and the environment.

The Incident Director ensures that all emergency procedures are in place, staff are well-prepared, and resources are efficiently allocated during incident responses.

In addition, the Incident Director analyzes incident data and collaborates on preventive strategies to strengthen resilience against future environmental hazards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate response teams during environmental incidents, especially wildfires, to ensure quick and effective action.
  • Communicate with emergency services, regional authorities, and EFPRP staff to organize and execute response plans.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review emergency protocols and response plans.
  • Organize training and simulation exercises for staff and local partners to ensure readiness for incidents.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, during emergency response efforts.
Must Have
  • Familiarity with European environmental and fire safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in high-stress environments.
  • Strong understanding of emergency protocols and incident command systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and incident reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and one additional European language.
Nice to have
  • Certifications in emergency management or incident command (e.g., ICS, CEM).
  • Background in fire prevention or rural community outreach.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or environmental organization.
