Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for welcoming guests and assisting them throughout their stay at the hotel. Responsibilities include handling check-in and check-out formalities, billing, and payments. The receptionist responds to guest requests, provides information, offers assistance, and helps resolve any issues or complaints. The role may require working various shifts depending on service needs.

Specific Missions
  1. Responsibilities:
  2. Warmly welcomes guests upon arrival, addressing them by name when known and following brand standards (the “15 / 5” rule);
  3. Handles check-in formalities, confirming reservation details with guests;
  4. Ensures guest identity verification and compliance with legal requirements;
  5. Secures payment guarantees for the entire stay;
  6. Presents hotel services, outlets, and opening hours to guests;
  7. Offers paid upgrades to higher room categories to generate additional revenue;
  8. Thanks guests after check-in and directs them to their rooms;
  9. Requests luggage handling from the bell team and assists when needed;
  10. Promotes the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program;
  11. Ensures a seamless digital guest experience via GXP Empower and Mobile Control Panel;
  12. Follows billing instructions for special arrangements;
  13. Charges credit cards for prepaid reservations according to standards;
  14. Gathers feedback during check-out and prepares final invoices;
  15. Handles payments and closes invoices;
  16. Thanks guests and invites them to return;
  17. Manages cash float and ensures accuracy of cash flows;
  18. Handles incidents or refers to supervisor if beyond scope;
  19. Communication:
  20. Uses professional language with colleagues and guests;
  21. Assists colleagues and communicates discreetly;
  22. Answers calls promptly and warmly, using guest names when possible;
  23. Provides information via various communication channels;
  24. Procedures and Standards:
  25. Protects guest and colleague confidentiality;
  26. Follows company and departmental procedures;
  27. Human Resources Management:
  28. Completes mandatory trainings;
  29. Leads by example, promoting company values: put people first, act with integrity, pursue excellence, embrace change, serve our world.
Required Skills
  • Soft skills: guest relations, responsiveness, excellent appearance, availability, smiling, warm demeanor, stress resilience;
  • Fluent in English; a third spoken language is a plus.
