Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for welcoming guests and assisting them throughout their stay at the hotel. They handle check-in and check-out formalities, billing, and payments. They respond to guest requests, provide information, offer assistance, and help resolve any problems or complaints. They may be required to work various shifts depending on service needs.

Specific Missions

  1. Responsibilities:
  2. Warmly welcomes guests upon arrival, addressing them by name when known, following brand standards (the “15/5” rule);
  3. Handles check-in formalities by confirming reservation details (room type, stay duration, package);
  4. Ensures guest identity verification and legal compliance (ID verification);
  5. Secures adequate payment guarantee (by card or cash) for the entire stay;
  6. Presents hotel services, outlets, and opening hours to guests;
  7. Offers paid upgrades to higher room categories to generate additional revenue;
  8. Thanks guests after check-in and directs them to their rooms;
  9. Requests luggage handling assistance and aids colleagues when needed;
  10. Promotes the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program;
  11. Ensures a seamless digital guest experience via GXP Empower and the Mobile Control Panel;
  12. Follows billing instructions for special arrangements;
  13. Charges prepaid reservations in accordance with standards;
  14. Gathers feedback during check-out and ensures a smooth departure;
  15. Prepares final invoices, reviews charges, and processes payments;
  16. Thanks guests and invites them to return;
  17. Manages cash float, ensuring accuracy of transactions;
  18. Handles incidents or refers issues to supervisors;
  19. Communication:
  20. Uses professional language with colleagues and guests;
  21. Assists colleagues and communicates discreetly;
  22. Answers phones promptly and warmly, using guest names when possible;
  23. Provides information via multiple channels;
  24. Procedures and Standards:
  25. Protects privacy and confidentiality;
  26. Follows company and departmental procedures;
  27. Human Resources Management:
  28. Completes mandatory trainings;
  29. Promotes company values: putting people first, acting with integrity, pursuing excellence, embracing change, serving the world.

Required Skills:

  • Soft skills, guest relations, responsiveness, excellent appearance, availability, smiling, warm demeanor, stress resilience, fluency in English.
  • A third spoken language is a plus.
