Fluidion is an innovative SME focused on developing advanced automated solutions for water quality monitoring: https://fluidion.com/. Our cutting-edge systems perform complex chemical and bacteriological assessments autonomously, offering high-resolution monitoring of chemical and microbiological pollution in various environments—ranging from drinking water reservoirs and recreational areas to natural ecosystems. By reducing risks for users and generating crucial scientific data, our solutions help safeguard public health and the environment.
In addition to our advanced measurement instruments, we design aquatic drones to deploy sensors and create pollution maps, further enhancing the scope of our monitoring capabilities. Our technologies incorporate microfluidics, 3D printing, machine learning, IoT connectivity, and automated data processing, allowing real-time water quality data to be remotely analyzed and visualized by our clients.
Operating internationally, Fluidion partners with private businesses, government bodies, and environmental agencies in cities like Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and also with large international organizations such as the UN. Notably, in the Île-de-France region, we contribute to major projects such as bacteriological monitoring of the Seine for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the active management of La Villette Basin for safe summer swimming. We collaborate with renowned scientific institutes across Europe and the U.S.
Our team is young, diverse, and multidisciplinary. Interns are a key part of our dynamic environment, working on real-world, leading-edge projects. Internship opportunities span fields like microbiology, analytical chemistry, electronics, and business development. Exceptional interns may have the chance to publish their research or join our team after graduation, with possibilities for fixed-term or permanent contracts, apprenticeships, or international assignments through VIE programs.
Why Join Us?
Internship Topic:
Within the R&D microbiology team, we develop portable analyzers to monitor water quality by quantifying bacteria in rivers, lakes, coastal waters, and drinking water. Microbiology interns will work on several tasks such as:
As you can see, our internship projects involve a variety of tasks, including a lot of laboratory work, regular data processing and writing, as well as fieldwork.
Desired Profile:
We are looking for motivated and talented students to assist in the development of our microbiological analyzers. The selected person will work in a dynamic group under the supervision of one of our R&D engineers to develop and improve new bacterial measurement methods and technologies.
If you are inventive, enjoy technology and have solid training in microbiology, are not afraid of laboratory experiments, and are familiar with laboratory procedures and safety rules, you possess the main qualities we seek in our interns! Experience in spectrophotometric analysis as well as skills in data visualization and processing using Excel and/or programming languages such as Matlab/Python would be a plus. Finally, since our small team is international, we regularly communicate in English. Are you independent and ready to work in a dynamic, international start-up environment?
Then, welcome onboard!
If you are interested in joining us, please send your CV, grades and motivation letter to employment@fluidion.com and include the reference number in the subject of the email. If we like your profile, you will be contacted for an interview and a skills test.
