JOB SCOPE :

The role involves supporting innovation by actively participating in R&D programs, developing and anticipating analytical methods necessary for R&D, and conducting competitive analyses to follow new ophthalmic developments. Additionally, the Technician supports operations and quality departments in resolving production issues and defining new defects or materials.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Provide high-level analytical services primarily using advanced techniques in analytical chemistry such as identification and quantification, mainly through GC chromatography and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
  2. Analyze raw materials, finished lenses, and competitor lenses.
  3. Monitor and maintain analytical equipment, especially GC chromatography systems.
  4. Write, archive, and regularly update analysis reports using Word or PowerPoint, ensuring they are stored in the R&D Aodocs system (in French or English).
  5. Expand expertise by acquiring additional analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS chromatography, NMR, EDX, and AFM available within the laboratory.
  6. Identify and subcontract external laboratories for TEM, NMR, GC, and LC analyses as needed.
  7. Gradually take responsibility for some studies or R&D programs.

CANDIDATE'S PROFILE :

  1. Education in Chemical Analytical fields such as a Higher National Diploma (Diploma of Advanced Technician) or a Bachelor's degree in Sciences.
  2. 2-4 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry, focusing on identification and quantification using GC chromatography or NMR spectroscopy.
  3. Experience in maintaining and monitoring GC techniques and laboratory chemistry techniques.
  4. Proficiency in data analysis and analytical profiling.
  5. Good command of MS Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  6. Fluent in English and French.
  7. Strong innovative mindset.
  8. Agile, adaptable, and eager to learn, capable of handling new challenges and implementing new solutions or approaches.
  9. Open-minded and proactive, comfortable navigating a dynamic work environment.
