JOB SCOPE:

To support innovation by directly participating in R&D programs, developing and anticipating analytical methods necessary for R&D, and participating in competitive analyses of new ophthalmic developments. Additionally, the Technician supports operations and quality departments in solving production issues, identifying new defects, or materials.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide high-level analytical services based on advanced techniques in analytical chemistry, including identification and quantification using GC chromatography and FTIR spectroscopy.
• Analyze raw materials, finished lenses, and competitor lenses.
• Monitor and maintain analytical equipment, particularly GC chromatography systems.
• Write, archive, and report analysis results using Word or PowerPoint, ensuring proper documentation in the R&D Aodocs system, in French or English.
• Expand expertise by acquiring new analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS chromatography, NMR, EDX, AFM, etc., available within the laboratory.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for TEM, NMR, GC, and LC analyses.
• Gradually take responsibility for specific studies or R&D projects.

CANDIDATE'S PROFILE:

• Educational background in chemical analytical fields: Higher National Diploma or Bachelor of Sciences.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry, particularly in identification and quantification using GC chromatography or NMR.
• Experience in maintaining and monitoring GC techniques and laboratory chemistry techniques.
• Data analysis skills and experience with analytical profiles.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Strong innovative mindset, agile, adaptable, and eager to learn.
• Open-minded, proactive, and capable of navigating a dynamic work environment.
