Our specialty lies in converting natural fats and oils into a wide range of oleochemical products. We offer them in a large variety of markets such as: cosmetics, nutrition, crop protection, industrial ingredients, lubricants, oilfield, coatings, detergents, and many more.

Oleon has over 1,000 employees worldwide in 9 different countries. Enthusiastic people who are completely in their element here at Oleon are more than welcome to join our team!

The job

As an R&D project management officer (PMO), you will manage a portfolio of high-impact projects that improve how our R&D teams operate, make decisions, and measure success. Working at the intersection of innovation, performance, and strategy, you’ll ensure that key initiatives run smoothly, data is turned into action, and resources are used wisely.

  • You monitor our R&D project portfolio. You analyze internal and external data to track progress, measure KPIs, and evaluate how initiatives align with our broader goals. By overseeing innovation budgets and financial reporting, you ensure resources are used effectively and transparently, enabling sound, data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • You translate insights into intuitive tools and clear communication. You develop and maintain custom Power BI dashboards and deliver concise, executive-ready presentations. These tools give leadership real-time visibility and a solid basis for prioritizing and steering R&D efforts.
  • You support project managers across a diverse portfolio—ensuring consistent methods, smart prioritization, and strong governance. You lead improvements that strengthen how we work and help shape the future of R&D.
  • You stay ahead of industry trends and help foster a data-driven culture by proactively leveraging data generated throughout the development process, proposing innovative solutions to enhance performance.

This role reports directly to the R&D Manager.

Who are we looking for? You'll succeed

  • You have a master’s degree and experience managing projects or portfolios, ideally in an innovation or R&D environment. You're skilled at keeping teams aligned and projects on track.
  • You have a strong analytical mindset, comfortable working with data and turning it into clear, actionable insights. Experience with tools like Power BI (or similar) is preferred, and you are eager to deepen your skills in reporting and visualization.
  • You know how to present data compellingly—making complex information easy to grasp for both operational teams and leaders.
  • Fluency in Dutch or French, along with English, enables effective collaboration across teams and regions.

What's in it for you?

You will join a company with ambitious goals and a welcoming atmosphere. Both your personal development and work-life balance are important to us. Expect an attractive salary, leave scheme, and benefits such as meal vouchers, CAO90, and options for car and bicycle lease plans. We also provide a solid insurance plan that you can rely on.

Oleon is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that embraces diversity. We ensure equal opportunities in our recruitment and integration processes, allowing you to be yourself in our professional environment.
