Quandela is seeking an R&D Engineer - Optical Systems & Single-Photon Source Lithography to advance SPS designs for cryogenic QD localization and laser lithography. The role blends hands-on experiments, fabrication engineering, and software development to push SPS performance toward production readiness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Optics, Materials Science, Physics, Micro/Nanotechnology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor or photonic device fabrication in a cleanroom.
• Hands-on experience in design, assembling, and alignment of optical systems.
• Hands-on experience in design, assembling, and operation of electronic devices.
• Python programming language fluency.
• Excellent attention to detail and rigorous experimental work.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently investigate technical problems using data and literature.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Improve SPS performance by optimizing QD positioning and laser lithography on experimental wafers.
• Develop GUIs and automation software in Python for SPS processes.
• Develop fully automated QD-positioning and lithography tools on complex wafers.
• Define process windows, recipes, operating conditions, and acceptance criteria.
• Improve repeatability, reproducibility, and wafer-to-wafer homogeneity.
• Prepare processes and equipment for larger wafer sizes and production volumes.
• Assess manufacturability, scalability and process risks before transfer.
• Define qualification plans and release criteria for production.
• Support technology transfer with documentation and training.
• Detect drifts, investigate deviations, and define CAPAs.
• Contribute to novel fabrication setups hardware and software.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to a safe, disciplined cleanroom environment.
• Develop data analysis tools to identify process sensitivities.
