Aperam Alloys Imphy Pierre Chevenard Research Center is seeking a talented R&D Engineer Metallurgist to lead advanced metallurgical programs and guide nickel-based alloy development. You will supervise a team, coordinate characterization work, and collaborate with internal clients to translate lab results into scalable processes.
The role requires a PhD or MSc in Metallurgy/Materials Science, strong leadership, and fluency in English and French.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in Metallurgy or Materials Science with a PhD or MSc from a top-tier French engineering school
- Extensive knowledge of Metallography and metallurgical characterizations; proven team leadership
- Fluent in English and French; strong written and verbal communication
Responsabilités
- Lead and manage the Structure & Characterization department within the Imphy Research Center
- Provide metallurgical expertise to internal teams and customers; ensure projects meet quality targets
- Develop Ni-based alloys competency and explore new materials and applications
- Oversee safety, security, and equipment quality; foster continuous improvement
- Collaborate with R&D, Industrial Operations, Quality and Development teams and engage with academic partners
